Acceptable Use Policy

1. Lawful and Responsible Use

The Service may be used only for lawful purposes. Customers may not use or permit the Service to be used for conduct that violates applicable law, infringes the legal rights of others, interferes with the operation of Reliable Internet's network, or materially harms other customers or third parties.

2. Prohibited Activities

Prohibited activities include, but are not limited to:

• Unauthorized access to computers, accounts, networks, systems, or data.
• Hacking, unauthorized port scanning, vulnerability scanning, probing, or security testing.
• Denial-of-service or distributed denial-of-service attacks, traffic flooding, or other activity intended or likely to disrupt systems or networks.
• Distributing malware, ransomware, viruses, worms, spyware, botnet software, or other harmful code.
• Phishing, credential theft, impersonation, fraud, or deceptive practices.
• Sending or facilitating unsolicited bulk email, spam, or abusive messaging.
• Infringing copyrights, trademarks, privacy rights, or other legal rights.
• Using the Service to facilitate or engage in illegal content or illegal activity.
• Falsifying network-identifying information or attempting to bypass security or access controls.

3. Servers and Publicly Accessible Services

Customers may not operate publicly accessible servers or hosted services over the Service without Reliable Internet's prior written authorization. This includes, without limitation, public web servers, email servers, game servers, VPN servers, publicly accessible remote-access services, and similar hosted services.

This restriction does not prohibit ordinary use of consumer devices and applications that include embedded local management interfaces or outbound connections, so long as they are not being operated as an unauthorized public hosting service.

4. Resale and Sharing

Customers may not resell, redistribute, sublicense, or commercially provide the Service to another person or entity without Reliable Internet's prior authorization. Customers may not extend or share a single Service connection with a separate residence, apartment, tenant, business, or neighboring property unless Reliable Internet approves the arrangement.

5. Usage and Network Resources

Reliable Internet does not impose a general monthly data cap or bandwidth quota. Customers may use the Service for ordinary lawful Internet activity consistent with their service plan.

Reliable Internet does not currently maintain a standing policy of traffic shaping, throttling, prioritization, or routine port or protocol blocking. However, if unusually heavy, abusive, malicious, misconfigured, or otherwise disruptive traffic is materially affecting network performance, security, stability, upstream services, or other customers, Reliable Internet may take reasonable temporary technical measures to mitigate the issue.

Such measures may include temporarily filtering or blocking traffic, restricting particular ports or protocols, rate-limiting affected traffic, or restricting or suspending the affected Service for as long as reasonably necessary to protect the network and restore normal operation.

6. Customer Security Responsibilities

Customers are responsible for maintaining reasonable security for Customer-owned equipment and networks, including Wi-Fi passwords, routers, computers, cameras, IoT devices, and other Internet-connected equipment. Customers should maintain appropriate passwords, software updates, security patches, and other reasonable protections.

If Customer equipment becomes infected, compromised, misconfigured, or otherwise begins causing a material security or network problem, Reliable Internet may temporarily block, restrict, or suspend the affected Service until the problem is corrected.

7. Reliable Internet Equipment

Customers may not tamper with, open, modify, relocate, damage, gain unauthorized access to, or otherwise interfere with Reliable Internet-owned equipment or infrastructure.

8. Responsibility for Other Users

The account holder is responsible for activity by family members, employees, guests, tenants, and other persons the Customer permits to use the connection. Customers should take reasonable steps to prevent unauthorized access to their network and Service.

9. Network Protection and Management

Reliable Internet does not routinely block ports, protocols, applications, or traffic types. When an active or developing issue threatens network security, stability, service quality, upstream services, other customers, or other Internet users, Reliable Internet may temporarily block, filter, rate-limit, restrict, or otherwise mitigate the affected traffic. If lesser measures are insufficient or impractical, Reliable Internet may temporarily restrict or suspend the affected Service.

Nothing in this AUP requires Reliable Internet to monitor Customer content or communications.

10. Enforcement

For less serious violations, Reliable Internet will normally contact the Customer and provide a reasonable opportunity to correct the problem before suspension or termination.

Reliable Internet may act immediately and without advance notice when a connection is actively attacking other systems, sending spam, distributing malware, creating a serious security threat, materially interfering with Reliable Internet's network, causing significant harm to other customers or third parties, or otherwise presenting an urgent operational or legal risk.

Enforcement actions may include filtering or blocking traffic, temporarily restricting Service, suspending Service, requiring corrective action, or terminating Service. Repeated violations after notice may result in termination.

11. Investigations and Legal Compliance

Reliable Internet may investigate suspected violations of this AUP and may cooperate with law enforcement, courts, regulators, upstream providers, network operators, or other authorities when legally required to do so or when otherwise permitted by law.

12. Changes to this AUP

Reliable Internet may revise this AUP as reasonably necessary to address new security threats, abuse patterns, network conditions, regulatory requirements, or changes in the Services offered. Updated versions will be posted on Reliable Internet's website with an effective date.
