To set up Outlook 2003 to use your new Reliable Internet you’ll need to know your e-mail address, account name and password. We will provide you with that information so that you can complete each of the following steps.

When you’re ready, open the program. On the Menu Bar, Click “Tools” and then click “E-mail Accounts...

Outlook next opens a wizard. Click on the radio button “Add a new e-mail account.” Then click “Next.”

On the next screen, you’ll be asked to specify the server type. Click the radio button titled “POP3.” Then click “Next.”

Next you come to the Internet E-mail Settings page. Start with User Information. In the “Your Name” block type in your name the way you want it to appear on your electronic correspondence. Continue by typing in your e-mail address. Your incoming mail server is “pop.1and1.com” Your Outgoing mail server is “smtp.1and1.com” Type your User Name in the block. Your user name is used to find your account on the e-mail server. Finally type in your Password, making sure the “Remember password” box is checked. Use Webmail to change to change your password first. Then click “More Settings...”

This will pop up another screen. On the “General” tab type in a convenient name in the “Mail Account” box. This name is used to help you identify the account.

Next, click on the “Outgoing Server” tab.

Make sure that there is a check in the box, “My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authetication.” Also click in the radio button, “Use same settings as my incoming mail server.” Click “OK.”

At this point you can click on the button “Test Account Settings...” This will run a check to see that you’ve entered the correct data during setup. If the test work correctly, click “Next.”

You’re done now. So click “Finish.”
